Beginning the 2022-2023 school year, the Office of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Arlington adopted the Measures of Academic Progress adaptive achievement and growth test offered by the Northwest Evaluation Association (commonly referred to as NWEA-MAP) as their diagnostic and placement tool. 

The MAP Growth assessment makes it easy for your child's teacher(s) to identify his or her progress and find the diagnostic information they need to place your child academically and manage his or her instruction.

MAP Growth is a web-based, computer-adaptive test that St. Francis of Assisi School uses to:

• identify your child's ability levels
• demonstrate academic growth over time
• place your child in the correct instructional programs

MAP Growth is the most trusted and innovative assessment for measuring achievement and growth in mathematics, reading, and language usage. It provides teachers with accurate, actionable evidence to help inform instructional strategies regardless of how far students are above or below grade level. It also connects to the largest set of instructional content providers, giving educators flexibility in curriculum choices.
