All middle school choir students who wish to be cantors.
What?
During Cantor Camp, middle school choir students are voice matched with other students to find the best matches for cantoring. This allows Mrs. Wells to take the time to listen to each voice, determining the strengths and development of each voice. Students also learn how to be a cantor.
Why a cantor camp?
In one hour, cantor matches can be made quickly and efficiently with many voices present. It also allows us to address procedures about working with the congregation so every cantor begins on the same footing and feels more confident. In the past, this process was done over several weeks during rehearsals. It prevents us from getting right to work on the music needed for the many special events such as St. Francis Feast Day.
