School Shoe Policy

Middle School: Eastland Black Tie Oxford  style #7152 men's and Eastland Plainview #3151 women's. Elementary School will be allowed to wear solid black leather athletic shoes this year. The black tie oxford is optional this year but will be required next year.

Please check your child’s shoelaces. They are to be the same solid color as the shoe and narrow not wide in width.  We have had several instances of students being hit and hurt because of “flying shoes”. The laces should be laced in a criss cross ( traditional or zig-zag) pattern. The tongue of the shoe should be visible and the knot needs to be in front of the tongue. Students who do not have their shoes laced correctly made this choice so they will receive a conduct warning.  If you are you child is unsure how to lace their shoes, instructions are available at www.fieggen.com under criss cross lacing.

For physical education classes only solid black or white athletic shoes (without large logo's or accent colors) that have matching laces (no color laces) will be allowed. Shoes may have velcro closures or laces. No slip-on, zipper shoes, designer sneakers or skate shoes are allowed (ie.  DC's, Vans, Chuck Taylors, etc.).   The shoe must be completely black or white with the same color logo, the logo may be no larger than 1/2 an inch. If you are unsure if the shoe is an approved shoe check with the office before wearing the shoes, since the shoe may not be allowed.
