Season of Lent

Lent, from the Middle English word lenten, meaning springtime - the time of lengthening days, is a period of forty days of fasting, prayer, and penitence before Easter.

The St. Francis school community is preparing for Easter. The day begins with faculty and staff gathering for morning Lenten prayer. During the week teachers and students pray the Stations of the Cross, create visual reminders of the season, and find many opportunities to reach out and help others at home and abroad.
