St. Francis Day in the Park

We celebrated the feast of St. Francis of Assisi at Locust Shade Park on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. Mass was celebrated in the open-air amphitheater and followed by a picnic lunch and a nature walk. It's a very fun day and a learning experience for students, teachers and parents alike.

St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology, was a Roman Catholic saint who astounded and inspired the Church by taking the gospel literally—not in a narrow fundamentalist sense, but by actually following all that Jesus said and did, joyfully, without limit and without a mite of self-importance.
